Even though spring is here, and the snow is melting down in the valley, on the mountains the snow has been piling up and there is still a whole lot of season left to enjoy. In fact, Hakuba Goryu, Hakuba47, Hakuba Happo-one and Tsugaike Kogen plan to stay open until the end of Golden Week (May 5th).Last weekend was the opening of the Tsugaike Kogen Ropeway which gives not only skiers and snowboarders an extra 250m of vertical but also allows snowshoers to take in the expanse of the Tsugaike Kogen Nature Park, albeit under 3m of snow. For skiers and snowboarders a one way ticket is 760 yen and there is a gentle cat track to ride down to the resort. For snowhoeing a return ticket is 1390 yen.The Tsugaike Kogen ropeway runs only on selected days, currently Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
