There’s something about riding a bike in Hakuba that makes stopping for coffee feel like part of the ride, rather than the destination.
You don’t need a training plan. You don’t need to chase KOMs. And you definitely don’t need to ride 100km.
Just pick a direction, follow a quiet road, and find somewhere good to stop.
Hakuba has plenty of roads that wind through rice fields, forests and small villages, with the mountains almost always somewhere in the background. By the time you’ve ridden for an hour or two, a coffee tastes better than it probably should.
That’s what we like about the coffee ride.
It’s an excuse to slow down and explore the places you might normally ride straight past. Grab a coffee, talk bikes, take a few photos, and eventually start pedalling again.
And the best part?
You don’t really need to plan it.
Just bring your bike, some good company, and a little curiosity.
Where’s your favourite place to stop for coffee in Hakuba?
