Mountainfilm on Tour 2019

If you’re a movie or outdoors enthusiast, don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the MountainFilm on Tour in Hakuba on Sunday 22 September.

The festival will take place at the base of Hakuba Goryu ski area’s Escal Plaza. Being located under the Japanese Alps in front of the large base building, the venue is a kind of natural amphitheater.

There will be 11 films short films shown including a film on Jon Wilson who lost a leg to cancer at the young age of 23. In winter Jon regularly skins and climbs up mountains to ski down on his one remaining leg. A true inspiration if you ever need one.

Make it a outdoor weekend with so much still to do in the valley. Some suggestions could be a hike up to the pristine Happo-oike pond, a trip to Tsugaike Nature Park, Canyoning on the mountain fed rivers or try your hand at Iwatake mountain bike park.

The Mountain Film festival show kicks off at 6:30 pm, and doors open at 5:30 pm. This event is an enriching experience for all ages

Pre-purchase tickets 1,300yen or buy on the door for 1,500There will be plenty of food and drink stalls, including the famous Tap Room with their wide range of craft beers.  And we have also learned that the it may be the first event to creates absolutely zero plastic waste! So maybe bring a plate and cup with you.
